Candidates having BA or BSc degree in Biostatistics or Health Statistics or Mathematics or Statistics or having B.A./B.Sc. degree with two full papers on Mathematics or Statistics from a recognized university in India or abroad with a minimum of 55% (50% for reserved candidates) of aggregate marks/equivalent grade in all subjects will be eligible for admission. Eligible foreign candidates can also apply for admission provided they secure financial support from any outside agency. Candidate who have already passed the qualifying examinations and those who have already appeared/ shall be appearing in the final qualifying examinations are eligible to apply. However, admission of the candidate will be cancelled if he/she fails to furnish the final examination result by September 30th of every year.

The upper age limit is 25 years as on June 30th of every year. Marks and age will be relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS categories as per Government of India rules only.
